counting down to Christmas - 25 sleeps to go

We are finally almost in December!

Last year, I bought TheOtherHalf a Mr. Men Christmas advent calendar for the first time. And thought it would be something nice to give to him whilst counting down to spending time together for the holidays.

I remember a text he sent me last year. It was so funny and went something like this...
TOH: Mmm. Mr Bump 2nite. xx
Me: Hehe. So cute la u. Don't fat all at one go ok? xx
TOH: Did u mean fat or eat. Hehe. xx
Me: Oops. Eat I mean eat. LOLS. xx

Miss him so much! Definitely looking forward to spending time with him this holidays.

counting down to Christmas - 28 sleeps to go

In our household, you'll be impressed that our Christmas dinner is actually prepared by TheOtherHalf.

As much as I will start with some sort of preparation, he will end up with most of the work.

Now, before you think I pushed this stressful responsibility to him, I don't make him do it. I am very lucky that - the way he wants to be a part of everything.

So I'm left with the (some what) supervision of Christmas dinner, while he stresses himself out on it. Which incidentally, I find it rather amusing. I know, it does sound rather mean.

And every year he give me this "I'm so proud and lucky to have you in my life" feeling.

Love you lots... xx

not.doing.justice.

Recently I said to TheOtherHalf...

ennazus: Please bear with me and hear me out.

He raised one of his eyebrows.

ennazus: If ever one day we end up having an Aston Martin...

He sniggers and then went on about how and when we will never own an Aston Martin.

I went on with however and whatever way we will own an Aston Martin and just for discussion sake.

He continues to look at me with raised eyebrows.

ennazus: Anyways, when we do have an Aston Martin, what do you think if we go out in the car wearing our 'Sunday Best' t-shirt and shorts?

TheOtherHalf: What do you mean by 'Sunday Best'?

ennazus: You know that comfy t-shirt with the hole and shorts you wear at home kind.

TheOtherHalf: (In disbelief) How can you do that to the Aston? It is so unfair. You are not doing the car justice.

ennazus: (Laughs) I know! Just something I thought about earlier when I was going to pick you up.

TheOtherHalf: I do wonder sometimes what goes on in your head.

ennazus: Yeah, I wonder myself too...

mile.high.cinema

He said...

'Hi
Fancy going to the movies?
What about Wall-E or Get Smart, hows that sound?
It has to be said it's not going to be the normal cinema,
we'll be sitting at 35.000ft and travelling at 300mph.

These are the featured movies for our flight babes.
Fancy watching together?'

Me...

*Gushes*

And the countdown begins...

Six sleeps to go.

first.weekend.apart

After being together for 59 weeks, this was our first weekend apart.

It wasn't really that bad. Just that we missed each other tons, and the next weekend seemed ages away.

Thankfully for technology: phone, texts, and emails.

At least both of us got quite a lot of things done as well.

He got the roof painted. I got some of my APC diary and report done.

He hung out late until 4am(!) on Friday (tsktsktsk...) and I went to Suzanne's 30th on Saturday.

We did well. *pat on our back*

Roll on Friday!

loony

Due to circumstances TOH haven’t been down to Glasgow, until a few weeks back.

Somehow I don’t know whether it was because he haven’t been down for so long, or that one of my nickname is ‘Local Nut’ and somehow his is ‘Freak’, or just because the aura we exude; that weekend when TOH came down, after a long time, was the weekend of loonies.

*****

LOONY #1

After meeting up with TOH the both of us headed to the bus stop waiting for the bus home.

Then we spotted Loony #1 and tried to pretend we were deep in conversation so that Loony #1 doesn’t come over and chat with us.

Lo and behold, guess what?!, Loony #1 had to pick us and came over to speak to us.

Loony #1: Hello. *smiling scarily like a pirate and his ‘beautiful’ jangly teeth. And then speaking to TOH* Is she your girlfriend?
TOH: Yes she is my girlfriend.
Loony #1: She is beautiful isn’t she?
TOH: *smile and agree, speechless*
ennazus: *smile even more and equally speechless*
Loony #1: She is very beautiful isn’t she? What’s her name?
TOH: Suzanne
Loony #1: That’s a nice name. What’s your name? *directing the question to TOH*
TOH: *answers his name*
Loony #1: My name is Peter. (Don’t ask me why I can still remember his name). She’s pretty isn’t she.
ennazus: *smiles even more and perplexed for words*

Of course it is nice to receive praises. But to have the same thing repeated so many times and is the only topic of conversation, it is terribly uncomfortable.

Being the nice people that we are, we don’t have the heart to tell him to go away, sadly, entertained him for the longest five minutes in our lives. I even had a pretended moment of our-bus-was-arriving-we-got-to-go.

Eventually we don’t know what else to talk about and the both of us were really uncomfortable, Looney Peter eventually left us for two girls at the bus stop.

I don’t know how and why he picked them both out of the many who are at the bus stop, but we were too busy post-mortem-ing the situation to do anything.

Unfortunately for the girls, he harassed them longer than us. By the time the bus arrived the girls were just glad to jump onto the bus. And one of the girls just dropped her money into the slot and said to the bus driver ‘anywhere, just anywhere’.

Mr. Bus Driver was stunned.

Anyways, Loony Peter was drunk.

*****

LOONY #2

The next day, TOH and I were in FOPP. FOPP is one of the bestest places to get cheap affordable music, DVDs and books.

We were browsing the stuff in the shop, when suddenly...

Loony #2: *speaking to TOH* Is she your girlfriend?
ennazus: *more than likely had groaned silently, turned facing to TOH and Loony*
Loony #2: She’s pretty isn’t she?
TOH and ennazus: *smiles politely*
ennazus: *thinking: ‘I can’t believe another one!’ Mentally smacks forhead*
Loony #2: What’s her name?
TOH: Suzanne
Loony #2: I see. She’s pretty isn’t she? What’s your name?
TOH: *answers his name like before*
Loony #2: *acknowledges that* She’s pretty isn’t she?

By this time I’m sure both of us were quite freaked out with how the weekend has been going.

They all must have communicated and hauled all the loonies informing that we were in town. And I’m convinced that something must be wrong with me or that it has been etched on my head ‘just tell me I’m pretty, NOW!’.

This time, I just scurried away dragging TOH with me when Loony #2 turned her head to the other side, even it was just for a while.

*****

I totally can’t believe what has been happening!!!

I know they are normally more than likely harmless. Most of the time, they are just drunk or really loony. And it is easier to play along rather than to offend them as you don’t know they might just turn violent.

But to have two in one weekend?!

So on our way walking home...

ennazus: I really don’t know what has been going on. Is it you or me or just the both of us? Or they know we haven’t been out and about together here for so long? We seemed to have been attracting all these loonies this whole weekend. *proceeds to rant about all the incidences we had*... And then they just have to say about ‘what’s your name?’, ‘she’s pretty/beautiful isn’t she?’ I really can't stand it when they say that. *very the exasperated by then*

We continued ranting about the experiences when suddenly...

TOH: Local Nut (That’s my nickname, btw). ‘She’s the local nut, I’m the freak, and what’s your name?’ Next time when they ask ‘what’s your name?’ then I’ll say that.

ennazus: *+____-"" can’t stop laughing by now* It’s a bit too late to think about that now right? Such a good line but a bit too late, plus will you still remember it when we meet another Loony?

Both of us continued laughing on the quiet street, prolly looking like a couple of absolute nut case.

ennazus: You better make sure you say that the next time. I dare you to say it. I’ll just have to prepare myself to run.

see.see

You know you’ve been with a Malaysian long enough when...

...You greet someone on MSN with ‘Larrr’ instead of ‘Hello’ -- TS.

...You speak like one.

Earlier on email...

ennazus: Apparently there is a Nike factory in Malaga! Ooooh... New trainers I see...
TOH: Do they do guided tours?
ennzaus: Guided tours?? Where to?
TOH: I was thinking of the Nike factory, you never know bit of good publicity. Then afterwards, come see see our in - factory discount store, hehe...

O.o!!

support

Like I said the other day, time flies by before you realise.

It’s been seven months since TOH and I started seeing each other.

He has been a great ‘supporter’ of the things I do and the decisions I make. He continuously encourages me.

Like wise, I the same for him.

Although, I must say that being supportive doesn’t mean that we agree with each other all the time.

Yes, we share quite a large chunk of similarities, yet, at the same time TOH always say to me ‘we’ll just have to agree to disagree then’.

It’s not easy accepting that when he says that to me. I will pucker up and sulk. But then it was for dramatisation only. I can never be angry with him for long.

It is these banters and ‘dramas’ that makes us us.

I’m the crazy one (although I saw a quote yesterday ‘I’m not crazy. I just have issues’) and he is the one that play along so that I won’t be the only obvious crazy one.

It is not rocket science that being supportive for one another is an important virtue of any relationship, but, we often take for granted things like this.

When you’ve been in a rut like me (in my past), you will understand where I am coming from.

Seven months. It seemed so fast, yet, it that all? It seemed longer than that, in a good way.

I am happy. We are happy. *smiles contently*

TOH play cheat by wishing me last night before midnight and sending an email to me yesterday for this morning.

Nonetheless it was a good move on his side.

I have to admit however, that I actually didn’t realise it last night, along the lines of forgotten at that time of the night.

Anyways...

Happy seven months.

Thanks for all you've said babes. You meant a lot to me too and I'm always so glad to have you.

Tons of love xxx

compromise

What’s yours is mine, What's mine is mine.

Not allowed.Why?Because I said so.

Every relationship should go by the above rules. Bear in mind, the ownership of the rules is the female party of the relationship.

Most sensible men know that.

For example, buying a house: if the woman said no, the man has to go with it. However, if the woman says yes, the man can’t afford, then it is a no. Even if the man can’t afford but the woman wants it exceptionally much and the man sort of want it (at least he must sort of want it), they will still get the property. But the woman will make the main decision. You’ve got to watch enough of Relocation, Relocation; Property Ladder; Grand Design; or any property related programme to see this reoccurring pattern.

I’m glad that TOH understands that - only oh too well.

But it doesn’t mean that he is always being pushed over by me. He just gives in most of the time. And most men do that so that they don’t get into too much hassle - a wise move on the male species. Most importantly TOH loves me, and I think the rules isn’t really too too bad.

There are times that TOH also just put his feet down and say no to my whims and fancies. And it works the same, because I love him too. Okay, there will be some resistance, as usual trying to get my way. But I know when a no should be a no, as well.

To summarise it, it is actually all about compromising.

And when you love someone enough, you will do whatever you can to make them happy, more so, to make the relationship work. However, this does not mean that you neglect your principles or even voicing your opinion.

Even if you don’t make a conscious change, I find it very interesting that we subconsciously make subtle changes, subconsciously, unknown to ourselves, things that probably, someone else will notice.

It is through compromise and good communication on both our part, the past six months went by a breeze. It always amazes the both of us that we only been together for six months because it feels much more than that. Maybe because we understand each other so well, more so, I believe it is because we give and take. He gives a lot and I take plenty. >.< ^_^

To my darling, Happy Six Month Anniversary! I’m so glad to have you in my life. With lots of love. xx

'sporty' weeekend

Happy 200th Post!!!

The weekend has been a very hectic one... sort of.

Running:

There wasn’t much time to prance about, I would say so myself.

Friday - morning: Ran to the train station. Woke up late because went to bed late. Arrived on time but the train was cancelled, had to wait for the next one. And I was chairing a meeting at 10am and in charged of getting the rolls as well. I reached there at 9:40am. Luckily a quick call to AD earlier and had delegated rolls duty to. Talk about timing!

Friday - evening: Ran from the bus stop to Buchanan Bus Station. I was held up at work. There was heavy traffic. I almost missed the bus up north.

Sunday - evening: I was aching all over (read on to know why) and didn’t want to move. I said to TOH that the bus station is near. Little did I realised it wasn’t as near as I thought it would be. And we were running short of time. Fast paced to the bus station.

Sunday - later that evening: I wanted to take one of the buses to go home from Buchanan Bus Station. Just as I almost reached there, the bus left. Oh well… So I walked to where I normally take the bus. The same bus was at the traffic light, and it turned green. There was other (light) traffic. I ran across the road when it was clear. Got the bus in time.

***********

Saturday was a fantastic day. TOH and I had so much fun.

We went to the driving range...
Aiming for the buggy!

Took a hike up the wee hill...
and took a pic of Pittodrie Stadium.
Aberdeen 0 – 1 Hearts

Exercised the mind and skill...
Had sooo much fun at the ‘coin-pushing machine’...
It’s amazing how far £2 can take you.
We even won a dog-key chain from it. *can you see it?*

We Bowlingo-ed...

And then Sega Rally-ed...

Air hockey-ed...
I beat TOH 7-4!

Shopped at the newly opened Aldi, down at the beach...

Carried the plenty impulsive, curious, unnecessary purchases...

Rushed home...

Dined and went for drinks with SR.

What a busy weekend! I’ve done my exercise for the year!

It was great nonetheless!!!

childish

Never dare a Scot.
He/She will do anything whether under or not under the influence of alcohol.

I guess it is just because Scots can be full of life.

But yeah, never dare a Scot anything, or at least TOH, or at least daring him to do something silly. He will as he has. Age doesn't matter. Yes yes.. I know I'm back to the age thingy again...

I guess the age old saying of 'life is short'. Or perhaps TOH is just childish, just like me.

And it is this childishness that we both possess attracts and keeps us together. This childishness that make us giggle at silly little things, afterall 'laughter is the best medicine'.

Mind you, when I mean childish, doesn't mean like supremely imbecile childish. We just know how to have fun and enjoy each other's company.

Perhaps we are really comfortable with each other.

Perhaps we don't have to pretend in front of each other.

Perhaps we just know how to enjoy ourselves, enjoy each other's company.

Perhaps we are just good at laughing at ourselves.

Whatever the reason, I'm glad we are and can be childish.

Make such a difference being serious and put on this serious look all day or all the time.

Most of all, it is great because we have so much fun together.

Thank you babes for always making me smile and laugh. I love all the time we spend together. Even though you drive me up the wall sometimes. Still, I think I drive you up the wall more often than you do.

we survived!

We spent about 1/3 of our time indoors, another 1/3 shopping
and 1/3 doing other things*.

*watching movies, going out for meals, hanging out with friends

Time flies when you are having fun.

In a blink of an eye 2007 came and gone.

In a blink of an eye our much awaited two weeks holidays came and gone.

TOH and I survived the two weeks seeing each other day in day out.

Am glad to report that we are both alive and didn't kill either one.

Compared to most couples who see each other everyday or at least every other day, TOH and I don't have that kind of privilege. So when the opportunity of seeing each other for two whole weeks arised, both of us had the same thoughts, 'will we survive it?'

With exception to the one time that TOH had to 'walk the dog' due to me being extremely stubborn refusing to take his wonderful, magical and delicious Boots Brochial Cough Syrup even though I was coughing my lungs out throughout the night; and me being annoyed by a highly entertainingly drunk and in situ rendition of 'I'm singing in the rain' by TOH; I think the both of us did very well.

We shared many hours catching up, playing board games and card games, preparing meals and even the cough! Sadly we also spent many hours indoors because we were too ill or even bothered to go out.

It is a great insight to what it would be like spending hours with each other everyday. And since we coped very well, I'm certain we will be fine.

I just can't believe the amount of time we go shopping as well!

On that note, I bought some clothes from M&S, some gifts for others, two piece of clothing from Fat Face (I love the clothes but I hardly buy anything from there), a few board/card games, some magazines, and not forgetting all the weird and wonderful medicines too! Over the weekend, I bought a Bench jacket (I've always wanted a Bench jacket, donno exactly why), a pair of cute cherry pumps, a selection of items from Ikea, and a pair of Kenneth Cole Reaction boots.

I will need to look back at my December budgets and prepare my January budgets soon. Then there is all the filing of the dreaded bills and statements to be carried out this week. The joys of it!

So tommorow is back to work routine. I should really jump back in and catch up where I have left behind up to the one week before Christmas holidays. I will also see my APC Supervisor to complete my three months Supervisor report.

Thankfully I've completed my ironing, clear away the Christmas paraphernalia, tidy up the flat and made some soup in this really lovely West Coast wet weather.

Work here I come!!!

snowing

It's snowing!
*groan*

It has started snowing. But it is just snow showers.

It's nice when you see it coming down, sort of. It feels like a harder form of rain pelting falling down on you.

About four weeks ago it sleeted while TOH and I were out shopping in Glasgow. He was amazed at how excited I got with the snow falling.

Today, TOH said to me, 'if you live with snow all your life, the novelty will wear off'. Perhaps.

Spoilsport. O_O

I don't deny that I dislike when the snow becomes slush. It can be really wet and dirty.

But snow. Come on...

As much as there is some element of truth there - not forgetting transport distruption, wet, cold, etc; it is something foreigners like yours truly who don't come from a snowing country will still love it and be excited about it.

It's beautiful. It's magical.

I know it is kinda shallow too. @_@**

On a related issue, we were supposed to go to Dumfries tomorrow and TS will meet up with us to give us the grand tour. However, we just heard the weather report that it will be heavy snow tomorrow. Not wanting to travel all the way there and end up in bad weather, not being able to see anything and stranded there not being able to come home, we have decided to give it a miss, for now.

Anyways, I'm glad to be home. And it is good to be on the train with TOH, rather than saying our goodbyes at the train station. And as much as it will still happen come Sunday, we are happy that at least we are still able to hang out with each other for another day, without killing each other. ^_^

aftermath

I.Am.Not.Bringing.TOH.To.
House.Parties.Again.
(perhaps)

Last night's party at Tracy's was good as usual.

We went there about 9ish. It had a slow-ish start. Perhaps it was a matter of not sure where to start. Perhaps we were entertained by little Aidan running up and down the room. Perhaps we didn't have enough to drink (see earlier post on drinking happy).

Eventually, it seemed more fun when the girls started dancing madly - the wifies vs. the young girls dancing competition. TOH met a few familiar faces and catch up too.

Andy took some pics and gave me two A4 prints. I was impressed that the prints dried so fast. Mine takes a few days to dry out properly. Maybe I printed them on best quality. Hmmm...

We had the opportunity to try out some Ninetendo gadgets too - mainly the DS Lite and Wii. TOH and I have been thinking for a while of getting either one.

DS Lite
The DS Lite had 'Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain?' game in its slot. It is quite an interesting and addictive game.

Wii
After watching the children/youngsters playing the Wii, TOH and I later had a try at it. We first try out Wii Sports. Amongst the games on Wii Sports were tennis, baseball, bowling, golf and boxing. We tried all of the games except for boxing. I liked this package. The games mimic real life swinging, batting and bowling! TOH and I had great fun playing it together since there were two remote controls.

I was actually sweating from playing the games and my arm ached from swinging the bat!

We later put on Wario Ware: Smooth Moves. It wasn't as staright forward and simple as Wii Sports. I think you need to read the booklet to understand the game before you can play it with ease. So we moved back to playing Wii Sports.

Many hours later we decided to go home. TOH didn't look very well either. I'm sure he thinks I didn't notice it but I did know very well he was pissed when he started ignoring my instructions telling him what to do with the Wii remote. @_@

Instead of calling for a taxi home, we decided to walk. I didn't really mind walking since I love walking. I didn't mind paying for the ride home either. But since we decided to walk, so walk it was.

Coming out of Tracy's block the rain was pelting down on our faces. Since her block is not far from the beach, the wind was strong from the sea. I was lucky enough that my Nike long jacket kept me warm. TOH was not so fortunate and moaned all the way home about the rain and cold.

In his pissedness, TOH kept asking me if I was embarrassed by him. It wasn't so much of whether I was embarrassed by him or not but I was getting annoyed with his antics. To think about it I wasn't embarrassed in any way, honest. Just annoyed.

The state of pissedness or getting tipsy is just part and parcel of drinking.

I didn't even mind walking in the rain. I wasn't even fazed by the rain. I don't deny when we first left Tracy's the rain pelted down with the strong gales making it seemed to be hailing rather than raining, it did bothered a bit because it was painful.

But I was so annoyed. At the same time I was worried about him. I was worried that he will fall ill from the rain and possibly from the drinking. More so, I was worried if anything happens on our way home.

Tracy said to Andy last night that since they haven't started arguing that means that she wasn't pissed - enough.

It got me thinking on our way home, 'are we going to argue on the streets?' It wasn't even worth arguing in TOH's state of mind.

Still I was annoyed.

But for every annoyance he caused I think it was paid back with him falling ill from the drinking.

As cruel as it sounds, I am still concerned about him. And as sappy as it sounds, I still love him to bits. My poor baby!

And as they say, 'self inflicted pain/illness does not deserve sympathy'. Thank goodness we were mature enough on that and TOH has to admit defeat to it. I'm sure he will recover soon, just as we all do from an excellent night of drinking.

We both drank the same amount last night, he had vodka Cokes and I had G&Ts, and I even had a shot of Apple Sourz. But in all fairness I think he had about half a glass more than me.

I just hope he learnt his lesson. And as much as AD always say to me that 'eating is cheating', I stand firm on having food and drinking.

As for the the Nintendos, I'm contemplating which one to get. I'm just afraid I might go for both.

Watch this space!

games

Over the past few days we have bought quite a collection of games to see us through the holidays and er... possible beyond.

Two days before Christmas we went to Woolworths and bought four games, of which Chad Valley games were on 'three for the price of two' offer.

I wanted Uno Spin, so we got that. We also got 'Battleship Command', which is 'Battleship'; 'Papa's Pizza Popper' or something like that; and something like connect four, but it is not named as connect four because the three for two games were from Chad Valley and not Milton Bradley or better known as MB games.

Anyways, we HAD to play Battleship. It goes without saying that I beat TOH on Battleship... woohoo.. Okie, he won't be too happy reading me saying this about him. heheh...

We then try this Papa Pizza Popper, but we think it was knackered. I went 'it's broken'. You are supposed to turn the dial and then press the pizza base down, press 'start' and then place all the pizza toppings on the pizza before it pops. I know it is a very kiddy game but it was our last choice for the three for two. What consumers we are!

After numerous attempts, we deceided that the pizza has to go back.

We then played Uno Spin, which I think now is our somewhat favourite game. It has the same basic Uno concept but with a Spin element to it. Quite interesting. After not playing Uno for a while, it wasn't really that difficult to play it and it makes the time pass really nicely too!

Since Boxing Day, it was all shopping, shopping and shopping.

Yesterday, on our way to the M&S sale we stopped by at Oxfam to have a wee look at the things they have there. And guess what we found?!

A set of Boggle (1996) and wait for this... Screwball Scramble!

I must have it!!!! It's the original one! Or at least the same one my cousins had!

I remembered my cousin GS and LS had this game when we were really young. It is like the coolest game ever! I have many flashbacks of this game since I like it so much. But to find it in Oxfam, I was just elated!

TOH was really nice to bought both games for us. Since it was from the charity shop it cost us less than £2 for each of the game. The new Screwball Scramble costs £9.99 and we get it waaaay less than that and doing good at the same time.

When we finally got home in the evening, no prize for guessing which game came out first!

Trust Tomy to come out with great games. It took a bit of effort to get the hang of the game. It is really amazing how a simple game can keep us entertained for hours!

TOH had to tell me that I can't bring that to bed. Of course that didn't got down smoothly.

Tonight, SR let us have a hand on his xBox and we are playing Halo3. Not easy but trust me to add on the additional sound effects to the game.

Looking back, it is funny how now that we can afford to spend, we buy games and toys that we can't have when we were growing up. It is also interesting that no matter how much our parents keep telling us how to take care of our toys we hardly or never really seemed to, unless you are this really really good child.

Watching this programme about James May: My Sister's Top Toys, it was nice to reminicise the toys we once had. And that book that I bought on 80s Toys will give me this so called chance of not growing up.

Way to go girl!!!

On a different issue, I'm so happy for U&D on the arrival of their first born baby girl bundle of joy.

Cough update: Last night wasn't a very good night. Woke up around two something and then four something to fits of cough. TOH is not very pleased with me because I refuse to take his Boots Bronchial Cough Syrup. It is vile I tell ya! Honestly!!!! But the sweetheart that he is, we went to buy me a slightly more bearable cough syrup this morning. I'm actually starting to feel better last night but donno why I had those fits of cough... Not good at all.

'twas was Christmas

It's the day after Christmas.

I had a fantastic Christmas yesterday. TOH and I went up to TOH's dad's for Christmas after opening our pressies in the morning. I loved all of my presents and I'm glad that TOH loved his as well.

It was a very nice and relaxed day. We had chicken and all the trimmings, and then later fruit triffle for desert. The company was great.

Watched Shrek 2 on telly. It had this fairytale-enchanted-lovey-dovey-Shrekeques feeling. I think it was nice. But, as with all sequel, the first is always the best.

I think I must have almost coughed out my lungs. My diapharm muscles are aching from all the overtime coughing.

I believe I've tried almost everything I can get my hands on.

I've almost finish a 15ml/30ml bottle of Pei Pa Koa.

Sucked on tons of Halls sweets.

Had honey lime drink.

Even had a gulp of Boot's Bronchial Cough Syrup that TOH gave me. One word for it: vile. It.Was.VILE!!!!!! One gulp of it, within seconds it came out. I've tasted bad tasting things but this was way over whatever I've tried before.

However, I'm now on a CocaCola diet. I've heard of it, and I've tried it now and then, that you gently boil some Coke and a bashed piece of ginger until warm and the gas in the Coke are gone, you drink it down, it will cure your cough.

And as bizzare as it sounds, it is working. And I'm swearing by it. For now.

So I've got my excuse on drinking tons of Coke. However, just plain Coke. Don't have the time and bothering with the hassle of boiling it with ginger.

Also, I think the chill is not helping so I'm keeping myself as cosy as possible.

Going to bed at night is a nightmare. With me coughing incessantly, no one gets a peaceful night of sleep. I've even come up with my own nebuliser. Yes, it is an exaggeration but breathing cold air seems to trigger the chain of painful coughs.

If anyone is concern. The Coke has been a great help and I'm surprise at how well I'm recovering in a short time as well.

Walking in the malls today, I can't help wondering all that anticipation to Christmas, after all that mad dash, after all that scratching your head on what to get people, and after all that, it was just another day. It is just another day, even the day after.

It is not a bad thing. I always loved Christmas. There is something utterly magical about it. And I loved it more this year that I can spend it with TOH.

Of course we can't deny the true reason for the season. Going to Gerrard Street BC'c watchnight service on Christmas Eve is one thing that I try to do every year. Although it is late in the evening but it is always good. The candlelight, the message, the atmosphere, the everything.

As much as commercialism irkes any one of us, it is commercialism that helps the economy, not forgetting debts, but let's not go there, shall we?

It is amazing how the Sales starts earlier and earlier each year. I noticed some of the shops has started their Sales even before Christmas! It is the season of never ending shopping.

Shopping before Christmas. Shopping during Christmas. And Shopping after Christmas.

Yes, some online Sales starts midnight on Christmas. Great stuff ya?!

Just came back watching 'Enchanted'. TOH and I both mistakened it for 'Stardust'.

We thought 'Enchanted' was Stardust. Anyways, ten minutes into the movie, it was animation. We both were looking at each other! I was like 'sorry, I didn't know it was animation!'. But then all was revealed. And it was ahh.. 'Enchanted' I know which movie...

It was a good movie. I think Disney did it very well. How real life acting was almost the same as animation. Kudos to Disney! I can't help feeling a longing to go to any of the Disney theme parks during the singing/dancing scene in Central Park.

Oh well.. I gtg and continue coughing now..

meetings

Last weekend had been a rather eventful one.

Met up with Yen and had Chinese for lunch with TOH. It was good catching up and just enjoying each other’s company.

After lunch, TOH and I went shopping and bought a few things, nothing much exciting there.

We managed to put up the Christmas tree - halfway. We still have some baubles to add on and a not-so-gay-looking-tree-topper-to-hunt-down. Besides, putting up the tree, the evening was rather quiet and uneventful. We enjoyed each other’s company watching the box.

On Sunday, TOH and I went to visit his dad.

It was my first time meeting TOH’s dad. He was a really nice and friendly person.

Before the visit, TOH was rather concerned and worried if I would be daunted by the aspect of meeting his dad. I was actually quite laid back and didn’t really worry much. I just thought, ‘it wouldn’t be that bad’.

But thanks to TOH and his constant reminder, I think I was getting a bit nervous, just a bit.

In the end, I just said to TOH not to mention again, lest I really get worried and nervous.

In all honestly I was slightly concern having to cook lunch for TOH’s dad. We had mushroom soup with crusty bread. I was glad it turned out good and everyone loved it. Not bad considered it was my second time making the soup. As usual, TOH did all the cutting and prepping, I will need to get him to cook it the next time and he will be a pro in no time!

TOH is my number one supporter for my cooking. Or rather, my number one guinea pig. ^_^ So far I think I’ve done not too bad, since he is still well and alive, with his tummy growing and coming back for more. Hehehe…

I felt at ease and enjoyed the afternoon. It was nice to see how close TOH and his dad are. The banters they share with each other. The topics they discussed. It was really good. I could understand why TOH makes it an effort to spend time with his dad about twice a week.

It was fun and I look forward having the privilege spending Christmas with them.
